Does anyone know anything about Thalemia?

I have been diagnosed with Thalasemia. I had very low iron count and was put in the hospital for iron infusion treatments. I then found out I had uterine cancer and will soon undergo radiation treatments. I haven't had a consultation with my doctor yet to ask this question. Is there any reason that thallesemia would be effected by radiation or visa versa?
